These small vases are a modern version of the 'fazzoletto' vases made by Veleni on Morano in the 1950's
The Merano vases were made from mouth blown glass (and very expensive) whereas these, modern variations, are made from sheet glass that is hand decorated and pre-fired, before being draped over a former and subjected to further controlled heating and holding schedules in an electric kiln. Each one is truly unique in both shape and design.
Perfect for gifting or for creating a stament in your own space, these unique works combine artistic beauty with refined craftsmanship.
At approximately 5cm tall, they are perfect for holding a tealight candle, or could be used to hold pot pourri or a posy of small flowers.
I can also make the same style of vase in sizes up to approx 10-12cm tall. Please contact me if this would be of interest - naturally, as the larger vases are made to order, they can be created in your choice of colour/theme.
